Become a Certified Medical Assistant! Can you see yourself in a medical uniform, assisting a doctor to help patients to
feel better?
The
objective of this program is to prepare the graduate for an
entry-level position in various health care settings. Emphasis is
placed on clinical skills, various computer applications, and the
skills necessary to assist physicians in examining and treating
patients in doctors' offices, hospitals, clinics and other health
care settings. With the training in computer applications and office
skills, the graduate is also prepared to obtain employment outside
the health field.
The Medical Assisting program is accredited by the Commission on
Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org)
upon recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American
Association of Medical Assistants Endowment. Upon completion
of the program, graduates are eligible to test for the Certified
Medical Assistant (CMA) designation.
This program seeks to develop a well-rounded individual through its
general education component with both the professional and personal
qualities that will assist the graduate to succeed in the business
world.
